I suggest someone knock up a simple list of features offered by generic branch hosting. It can't be that hard.
What the Footer menu for?
Our branch has put a lot of effort into developing a FTP site hosted on the Ulysses servers. If I understand Jen's letter correctly, we will either have to pay to have this site hosted or abandon it. Can you confirm this please?

Currently our ride calendar is not synchronised with the main site as the I find the interface to be clumsy and inconvenient. The "submit rides" form seems like a step forward in hopefully allowing pain-free updating of the ride calendars.
Has a generic template been created for our branch, and is so, is it possible for our committee to preview it before making a decision
From a webmaster's perspective, the attachment doesn't actually say what changes to hosted branch websites are occurring. It doesn't answer the question "what's in it for me?
Where does the Contact us Form go to?
What if our Webmaster leaves? Rides on? or packs it in?
How come I cannot edit or move the Ulysses Club Inc or Aims of the Club content.
I am not familiar with the generic website format, and I would hope that it can be massaged to provide the same services and conveniences that our members have become accustomed to. Is there somewhere that I can get this information?
So many questions, too many to ask in a simple email, will there be more communications & details on this?
I think it would be preferable to host all our on-line services on a Club site but there are a number of services (on-line newsletter/blog and mailing list) we would need to continue on that website.
Could we please have some additional information about the new proposal.
What's the difference between the Summary and the Full page article?
I was wondering if it was possible to see a draft or "mock-up" of the new "generic" website prior to committing to a migration to it.
Is there a mechanism in the dotnetduke site for integrating mailing lists and calendar notifications? Even a single email notification would be useful, as we can use an externally managed mailing list.
We currently have a Yahoo group which is mainly used for automatic notifications of rides and events from the ride calendar. This calendar has to be manually synched to our web site calendar, but does provide comprehensive pre-event notifications, plus a well managed mailing list.
Will the generic website be a separate URL to the existing, or replace the existing?
Also, I don't want to move stuff over, only to lose it in the future if someone decides to 'simplify' the website. Some assurances against that happening would be nice.
Our Branch has had a Club hosted website for quite some time. Recently we have also established a blog website using Google Blogger. We use this website rather than produce a newsletter.
Alternatively I'd be happy to alter the appearance of the Adelaide branch to give a consistent look & feel with natcom hosted sites (but not to the extent of using the same framework). To do that, I'd need some guidelines. (I expect to make big changes to the underlying code of the Adelaide website soon, since it isn't HTML5 compatible.)
What is the actual migration date ?? Jen Wood's letter of 6 August is rather vague with " sometime in August ".
If a club hosted site provides enough, then I'd be happy to move the Adelaide branch website to it. But in absence of useful info, I can't make that assessment.
I am unclear from the communication below as to what is mean by content migrated to a generic website, what is your definition of content in this context? I am assuming this is everything other than the delivery application (i.e. the html & css etc). ?
The new Branch sites have a Blogging style tool for news and rides. It auto archives the content. Having the content on your own site only increase the SEO of your website along with more visitors browsing your site instead of the generic Google Blogger site.
