Welcome to the Ulysses Club Inc. Gold Coast

The Ulysses Club Inc. Gold Coast has been around for about 20 years and we are rather proud of our little neck of the woods. We meet at the Nerang Bowls Club, Cuyuga Road Nerang on the second Monday of every calendar month. You're welcome to just turn up, meals start 6.00 pm for a 7.30 pm meeting start.

The next meeting is on May 14th. It's a time to unwind, meet up with fellow members and chew the fat. It's not meant to be serious!!!! The guys on committee look after the serious bit - we just help them along!

Guzzi Dave's AGM Event Report #2

Super car champion Craig Lowndes and other celebrities are taking to two wheels to help RSPCA Qld. They’ve enthusiastically agreed to take part in the first ever “Ruff Rider 500”, a 500 kilometre charity motorcycle ride, being held on Sunday 10th June. The event will raise vital funds to help build the RSPCA’s $1million dollar Education Centre at the Animal Care Centre at Wacol.  This state of the art facility will improve and expand RSPCA’s current humane education programs and will be critical in helping to stop the ongoing animal cruelty cycle which is often generational. Overall, this specialised education centre will contribute greatly to the wellbeing of all creatures great and small for many decades to come.

“I’ve always been a keen motorcyclist and to be given the opportunity to lead the ride and help raise funds that will help break the animal cruelty cycle is a great opportunity,” said Craig who is a long standing RSPCA ambassador.

RSPCA Qld’s CEO Mark Townend is also a keen motorcyclist and a proud Harley Davidson owner.

“I used to think of myself as a bit of a “Wild Hog” but I’m a more serene Hog these days!” He joked. “Seriously though, it’s a great cause and everyone is really excited. We’re hoping to make it a yearly event that everyone puts down as a “must do” in their calendar.

The ride will leave from the new Animal Care Campus at Wacol at 7.00 am and then travel up through the Brisbane Valley to Kilcoy, on to Maleny and across to the RSPCA shelter at Noosa . The riders will then head back to Wacol.

The event is called the "Ruff Rider 500" not only because it’s a 500 kilometre ride, but because the RSPCA is asking all entrants to try and raise $500 per bike (rider and / or their pillion). Once registered for the ride the personal sponsorships can be raised from the workplace, family and friends in the weeks and months leading up to the event.
